It was our good fortune to acquire Dory from her breeders Dave & Maureen Minns as a four year old Champion bitch. She quickly became the "Queen of Diamonds" and gave us three champion sons and two champion daughters, therefore laying a firm foundation for Diamond Akitas. 

She returned to the show ring later in life, where she delighted the crowds as a Multiple Veteran Group Winner and Best Veteran in Sweeps at numerous Akita Specialities.  Her sons, daughters and now grandchildren also seem to get their "second wind" and excel in veteran competition.

Dory's role as matriarch and sentry at "Villa Diamonte," Angi and Ron's home in scenic up-state New York, was one that she always took very seriously.  We would like to believe that her true Akita spirit still watches over that hill-top property.
